Ready Steady Yoga Introduction

Why do children love yoga?

Young children are naturally creative, playful and energetic. Yoga encourages their openness and curiosity.  Yoga is completely non-competitive and every child can do it.  No special equipment is needed, just a bit of space and a lot of enthusiasm!  Practising yoga helps young children to retain the flexibility that they are born with and encourages older children to keep their bodies fit and supple.  Spending a lot of time sitting in chairs at school and playgroups, or in cars can compromise this natural flexibility.  Yoga for children combines physical exercise with imaginative play and adventures where they are always the heroes of their stories.  For older children, yoga offers a positive space where they can keep fit and healthy and learn useful techniques to calm themselves and relieve the stress of growing through their teenage years.
