Why do babies love yoga?
Babies exist in a natural state of contentment. Yoga encourages their openness and curiosity. As babies develop, they move instinctively through poses that mirror yoga postures created thousands of years ago. Modern lifestyles mean that the natural movement babies need to practise for healthy development is often restricted by the use of car seats, pushchairs and walkers. Baby yoga helps to reinforce and encourage development and provides parents and babies with a quiet space in which to spend time together without distractions. More than anything, babies love your undivided attention!

The yoga for adults in these classes is designed to help with postnatal recovery, so it is gentle and therapeutic. We also concentrate on areas of the body that come under pressure carrying and caring for babies, such as the lower back and shoulders. Yoga breathing is taught to help re-energise, and the relaxation and rest period offers a welcome time out.
Dads are welcome at the sessions too, either with their baby and partner, or with their baby.
